At Learnoria Publishing, we believe reading still beats the screen, and in an age of endless scrolling and shrinking attention spans, that belief matters more than ever. So we put reading at the heart of everything we make, building books that hold a reader’s focus instead of competing for the second before they swipe away. And because a book only works if a young reader wants to read it, we write to be educational and genuinely fun at once. so learning feels like the reward, not the chore.
Series
Sports Books for Young Readers
Sports Books for Young Readers is a children’s book series for kids ages 8 to 14. Each book covers one sport, including baseball, football, soccer, and basketball, and every book contains the same three things: the greatest true stories from that sport, a collection of fun and surprising facts, and trivia games for young readers. These are nonfiction sports books for children, written for elementary and middle-grade readers (roughly grades 3 to 8). Each title is a standalone book, so a child can start with the sport they love most. The series is designed for young sports fans and reluctant readers, and makes a popular gift for birthdays and holidays. The Sports Books for Young Readers series is written by Harris Baker and published by Learnoria Publishing.

The 11 profiles in this book are thorough and well-written. You really get to know the players and their background. It’s all told in a style that is fun to read. And then you have the “Amazing Facts, Records, and Moments” which are amusing, much shorter stories. Sorry to be cliche, but really, if you know a youngster who is interested in basketball history, this is a slam dunk of a gift for them (or for yourself).
